Job Overview Cards

The dashboard displays summary cards with key job metrics:

CardInformation Displayed
Job Details Job name, nature, zone, account centre, currency, and current status
Contract Value Total contracted amount based on BOQ rates and quantities
Budget Summary Total estimated budget across all resource factors
Actuals Actual costs incurred to date across materials, labour, plant, and subcontract
Billing Status Total billed amount and outstanding invoices

BOQ Progress Tracking

The BOQ section of the dashboard shows the progress of each Bill of Quantity item:

  • Total BOQ items — Count of all BOQ items in the job
  • Quantity completed — Measured quantities against each BOQ item
  • Percentage completion — Progress calculated as measured quantity vs total quantity
  • BOQ state — Whether items are in CREATED or CONTRACTED state
Progress calculation: BOQ progress is calculated based on actual measurements recorded against each item. Ensure measurements are entered regularly to keep dashboard data current and accurate.

Cost vs Budget Visualization

The dashboard provides visual comparisons of budgeted costs against actual expenditure:

By Resource Factor

View budget vs actual breakdown for each of the five resource factors:

  • Labour — Budgeted labour cost vs actual labour expenditure
  • Material — Budgeted material cost vs actual procurement and consumption
  • Machine — Budgeted plant cost vs actual equipment charges
  • Subcontractor — Budgeted subcontract cost vs actual work order payments
  • Overhead — Budgeted overhead vs actual indirect costs

Overall Project Health

The overall project health indicator shows whether the project is tracking within budget, approaching budget limits, or over budget.

Budget overruns: When actuals exceed budget for any resource factor, the dashboard highlights the variance. Investigate overruns promptly and take corrective action through revised estimates or cost control measures.
