Equipment Analytics

Equipment Analytics provides 15 SSRS reports covering the full asset lifecycle — from capital procurement tracking through allocation, utilization, production costing, depreciation scheduling, and disposal analysis. These reports use the 3-level machine classification hierarchy (Group > Subgroup > Sub-Subgroup) for organized filtering.

Location & Allocation Reports

Machine Locations (Summary + Detail)

Two paired reports for tracking where machines are deployed. Machine Locations shows a summary overview aggregated by machine type; click any row to drill through to Machine Locations Detail showing individual machines within that sub-subgroup.

Summary filters: Keyword search across machine codes and names

Detail filters: Sub-Subgroup ID (from drill-through), Machine Name

Machine Allocations

Shows current machine-to-job allocations including both direct allocation (physical location) and percentage allocation (cost distribution). A single machine may appear in multiple rows when allocated across multiple jobs.

FilterDescription
Business UnitFilter by organizational BU (0 = all)
ZoneFilter by geographic zone (0 = all)
Machine Group/Subgroup/SSGCascading 3-level hierarchy filter
KeywordSearch by machine code, name, description, vehicle code, or registration number

Output: Machine Code, Description, Name, Vehicle Code, Registration No, Location, Main Job, Allocated From/To dates, Job Percentage Allocation, Group/Subgroup/SSG hierarchy

Machine Management Report

Executive management overview providing comprehensive data on machines allocated to each job, including utilization metrics, costs, and status over a selected period.

Filters: Job (search & select), Date Range

Issue Tracking

Machine Issue Register

Tracks machine issues (breakdowns, maintenance needs) from initial report through resolution. Filter by job, vendor (for outsourced maintenance), or staff (operator responsible).

Filters: Job (search & select), Vendor, Staff, Machine Group/Subgroup/Sub-Subgroup (cascading)

Click any row to drill through to Machine Issue Status Details for detailed issue information.

Procurement & Rate Analysis

CPR Tracking Report

Tracks Capital Purchase Requisitions through their full lifecycle, linking each CPR to its downstream RFQ, PO, and delivery status in a single report.

Lifecycle: CPR Raised → CPR Approved → RFQ Created → PO Placed → Delivery Tracked

Output: CPR Date, Created By, CPR Code, Description, Approved On/By, RFQ Code, PO Code, Vendor, Ready/Ship/Arrival Dates, PO Status, Notes

Machine Offer Rates / Purchase Rates

Two companion reports for rate analysis. Offer Rates shows rental/hire rates offered for machines; Purchase Rates shows purchase rate trends across vendors. Both share the same filters: Date Range, Machine Group, Job.

Valuation & Depreciation

Net Asset Value

Calculates the net book value of each asset: Net Asset Value = Book Acquisition Value − Total Accumulated Depreciation. Uses finance module balance data (not machine module calculations) for depreciation figures.

FilterDescription
KeywordSearch by machine code or description
Group/Subgroup/SSGCascading 3-level hierarchy filter
Up To DateValuation as-of date (supports point-in-time reporting)

Output: Machine Code, Name, Acquisition Date, Book Value, Depreciation Rate, Salvage Value, Useful Life, Asset Value, Accumulated Depreciation, Net Asset Value, Status

Asset Scheduler Report

Projects period-by-period depreciation charges and projected net book values over the asset’s useful life for a selected financial year.

Filter: Financial Year (dropdown populated from financial period master, years after 2018)

Asset Disposal

Reports all disposed assets within a date range, showing original value, accumulated depreciation at disposal time, written-down value, sale proceeds, and profit/loss on disposal.

Filters: Date Range (disposal period)

Output: Machine Code, Name, Group, Asset Value, Accumulated Depreciation, Disposal Sale Proceeds, Disposal Invoice, Disposal Voucher, Notes

Profit/Loss Calculation

Written-Down Value = Asset Value − Accumulated Depreciation. Profit/Loss = Sale Proceeds − Written-Down Value. A positive result means a profit on disposal.

Asset Verification

Asset Verification Log

Records physical verification of assets, capturing verification date, who verified, condition, and fleet details (vehicle code, registration number) for mobile equipment.

Filters: Keyword search, Machine Group/Subgroup/SSG (cascading), Date Range

Output: Group/Subgroup/SSG hierarchy, Machine Code, Description, Disposal Status, Acquisition Date, Vehicle Code, Registration No, Comments, Verified On/By

Production Cost Analysis

Production Cost Report + Detail

Two paired reports for analyzing machine production costs. The Summary report aggregates costs by machine classification; clicking a row drills through to Production Cost Detail showing individual production transactions with stock valuation in job currency.

Summary filters: Date Range, Machine Group/Subgroup/Sub-Subgroup (cascading)

Detail output: Production From/To, Transferred To Job, Quantity, Job Currency, Stock Rate, Stock Value

Common Filter Patterns

FilterBehavior
Machine Group/Subgroup/SSG3-level cascading: selecting a Group filters available Subgroups, which filters Sub-Subgroups. Set to 0 for “all”
Job (Search + Select)Type job code or description to search, then select from filtered dropdown
KeywordFree-text search across machine code, name, description, vehicle code, and registration number
Date RangeFrom/To dates for period filtering
Business Unit / ZoneOrganizational and geographic filters (0 = all)

Best Practices

  • Weekly location review — Run Machine Locations to ensure all machines are accounted for and no assets are unallocated
  • Monthly NAV check — Use Net Asset Value report to track asset depreciation and identify machines approaching zero book value
  • Procurement tracking — Monitor CPR Tracking Report to ensure capital requisitions are progressing through the procurement chain
  • Production efficiency — Compare Production Cost across machine types to identify the most cost-effective equipment
  • Disposal planning — Review Asset Scheduler and Disposal reports together to plan asset replacements
  • Audit readiness — Run Asset Verification Log quarterly and ensure all assets have recent verification records

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a machine appear multiple times in the Allocations report?

A machine can be allocated to multiple jobs simultaneously through percentage allocation (cost distribution). Each row represents one job allocation. The percentages across all active allocations must total 100%.

Where does the Net Asset Value report get depreciation figures?

It uses the finance module’s balance data (the omni_vw_finance_jobwisepartywisebalances view), not the machine module’s depreciation tables directly. This ensures the report matches the general ledger.

How do Machine Locations and Machine Locations Detail relate?

They work as a summary → detail pair. The summary shows aggregated counts by machine type (sub-subgroup). Clicking a row drills through to the detail, showing individual machines within that type with their specific assignment status.
