The Ask AI module is an AI-powered assistant built into JobNext. It provides a chat interface where you can ask questions about your data, get help navigating the system, generate reports, or investigate issues. Whether you need a quick summary of active jobs or want to create a new record, Ask AI can help you accomplish tasks through natural language conversation.

Key Features

  • Chat interface with conversation history — The left panel displays a list of past conversations, allowing you to revisit previous questions and answers at any time.
  • Query JobNext data — Ask natural language questions about your data, such as “Active jobs list”, “Monthly vendor bill trend”, or “Top 10 jobs by sales value”.
  • Create records — Use conversational commands to create new records, for example “Create a new purchase order”.
  • Access SSRS reports — Request and retrieve SSRS reports directly through the chat interface.
  • Searchable conversations — All conversations are automatically saved and can be searched later for reference.

How to Use Ask AI

  1. Start a new conversation — Click the New Chat button at the top of the conversation history panel to begin a fresh session.
  2. Type your question — Enter your question or command in the text box at the bottom of the chat area. You can ask in plain language.
  3. Send your message — Press Enter or click the send button to submit your question. The AI will process your request and respond with the relevant information or action.
  4. Review the response — The AI's answer will appear in the chat area. It may include text, data tables, or links depending on the type of query.
  5. Continue the conversation — You can ask follow-up questions in the same chat session. The AI maintains context from earlier messages in the conversation.

“Monthly vendor bill trend” Generates a trend summary of vendor bills aggregated by month.
“Top 10 jobs by sales value” Lists the ten jobs with the highest sales value.
“Create a new purchase order” Initiates the workflow to create a new purchase order record.
Tip: Be specific in your questions to get the most accurate results. For example, instead of asking “Show jobs”, try “Show active jobs for the current month with their total sales value”.
