3-Level Classification Hierarchy

Every machine belongs to a 3-level classification that determines its depreciation treatment, reporting category, and planning designation:

How to Record Equipment Inspection 0:38
Machine Group (Level 1) Motor Vehicles (Sub-Group) Office Equipment (Sub-Group) 4 Wheeler (Sub-Sub) 2 Wheeler (Sub-Sub) Scorpio SUV (Actual Asset) Depreciation rate set at Group level Multiple sub-groups per group Planning unit (before procurement) Created at capitalization
Planning vs. Actual Asset

The Sub-Sub Group (e.g., "Scorpio SUV") serves as the planning designation during budgeting and estimation. The actual machine record is only created when the equipment is procured and capitalized through the Capital MRN process. Multiple individual assets can belong to the same Sub-Sub Group.
